BE PREPARED FOR HURRICANE SEASON

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is warning that 2006 will be a very active hurricane season.

During a press conference, Deputy Secretary of Commerce David A. Sampson noted "Preparation is the key message President Bush wants to convey. The impact from these storms extends well beyond coastal areas so it is vital that residents in hurricane prone areas get ready in advance."

The National Hurricane Center reccomends having a disaster survival kit for 3-7 days ready, including the following:

--Water: At lease 1 gallon daily per person
--Food: Non perishable packaged or canned foods, snack foods, utensils and cooking tools
--Flashlights & Batteries
--Radio: Battery Operated
--Telephones: Fully charged cell phones & extra batteries as well as a traditional non-cordless phone
--First aid kit
--Cash & Credit Cards
--Important documents: In waterproof or resealable bag
--Tools
--Vehicle fuel tanks filled
--Clothes & Blankets

Because of the severity of the 2005 hurricane season, Power Up Manufacturing is stocked & ready to ship the batteries and flashlights you need to stay safe before, during and after a hurricane.
