Q:Can I mix different kinds of batteries?
A:That isn’t a very good idea. Mixing different batteries could result in poor battery performance, or damage to your device.

Q:How can I get a quote?
A:Log on to our Online Quote Page (Click on Get Quote) and follow the login instructions. Or, if you feel more comfortable, you can call one of our sales reps at 1-800-960-0411, and they can get you the information you need.

Q:How do I choose the right rechargable battery for my application?
A:Choose your battery based on the needs of the device. Each different kind of battery has unique characteristics to fit into any application your business has.

First you need to determine the size, weight, and runtime that you need in a battery. Next, you can continue narrowing down your choices by energy density, operational costs, service life needs, maintenance requirements, discharge rates and load characteristics.

Once you know what you need, you can look at the different chemistries available in batteries, the characteristics are listed below:

NiCad: Long life, high discharge, and economical. NiCad are often used in portable radios, emergency equipment, professional video cameras and power tools.

NiMH: 30% higher capacity than NiCad, reduced cycle life, high energy capacity and small size. NiMH are often used in cell phones and laptops.

Sealed Lead Acid: Economical for larger power applications where weight doesn’t matter. SLA are often used for medical equipment, UPS systems, wheelchairs and emergency lighting.

Li-Ion: High voltage and excellent capacity with small size, with a delicate system that is regulated with circuitry. Often used in laptops, cameras, cellphones and sensitive military communications devices.

You can also ask the experts at Power Up Manufacturing which battery would be right. Feel free to call or Get a Quote and tell us the device you are looking to power, and we can sift through the science and build the battery you need, at the right price!

Q:How do I know what battery to pick?
A:To make a decision about a battery, you need to look at what you are using it to power, and what you need that device to do. How big is the device? How long do you need it to run? How much power does it need?

The main factors you need to look at are size, weight, and run time.
